About Us

MDA is owned by Hilary and Stephen Collins. We have been designing and constructing both public and private gardens in Northern England and the West Midlands since 1984. We both qualified at the University of Bath with Honours Degrees in Horticulture and have a broad range of experience with fruit, hardy nursery stock (trees and shrubs!), glasshouse crops, turf management, horticultural research and landscape design. In 1984, we became members of the Institute of Horticulture and in 1999 joined the Association of Professional Landscapers.
We design and build projects of all sizes from small courtyards to large country gardens, and provide highly detailed planting plans.

Television & Radio
We have both frequently taken part in local radio gardening broadcasts and give lectures and talks to various societies.
In 1997, we were the
greens people for Carlton Televisions Production Noahs Ark with Anton Rogers and in 2001 we worked with Granada Television on a gardening makeover programme. We designed and built the Desert Island Paradise.in Bromsgrove!!

Qualified Staff
Part of our Construction Team with Hilary and Stephen at either end of the line-up. We employ our own dedicated, professional, in-house designers, surveyors, bricklayers, natural stoneworkers, carpenters and plant experts, who work as a cohesive team to create your garden project. We do not subcontract our work to outside agencies.

The Local Community
Over the years, we have taken part in a number of Community based projects for charity. We were instrumental in starting the Malvern in Bloom Campaign.
One of our more recent projects is a garden sponsored by BBC Hereford and Worcester at the new Worcester Hospital. The Listeners Jubilee Garden is now used by thousands of hospital staff, patients and visitors.
